Summer seems to have finally arrived and all of this sunshine is telling me its time to do some camping!
Towards the end of august we will be catching a ferry across the British channel for the start of our next tour. This time we’re off to the Netherlands. It’s the second time we’ve toured there and there’s a good reason for that. The whole infrastructure is basically set up around cycling! Being an almost entirely flat country, the Dutch cycle like the Brits drink tea. Nearly every road has an accompanying cycle lane or “fietspad”. Bikes even have right of way over cars. And there is free, secure cycle parking (“fietsstalling”) around most cities. Add to this the beauty of the country, with its never ending canals, fields of flowers and easygoing people, it’s plain to see why this is one of our favourite touring destinations.
